About Me

I really like the way Bertrand Russel opens his autobiography:

“Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind.”

Mohammad Keyhani

I like to think I’m like that too. This weblog is my first serious attempt to  join the international English blogosphere. I will also upload some working papers and articles here. I’m always looking for people who have similar interests, so if you are one of them, contact me or add me on LinkedIn, MyBlogLog or Twitter. If you understand Persian (Farsi) you can follow my writings here, here, and here as well.

My interests are very broad and diverse (which is a problem sometimes in the modern specialized academic system) Some of the issues I’m interested in include the evolution of our information-rich society, the mechanisms of value creation and social interaction, the intricacies of human thought and behavior, the workings of social systems, organizations, business and economies, and the understanding, management, economics, and technology of information, knowledge, attention, and trust.

As for the formalities, I’m currently a PhD student in Strategic Management at the Schulich School of Business, York University. I have a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship from the University of Tehran, Iran after receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the same university. Previously I used to find the time to work alongside my education and my job experience has mostly been in the management consulting and software industries, mostly in the area of knowledge management. Currently, I’m more focused on coursework and research.

  7. Dear Mohammad

My name is Afshin Maykadeh. I hold an EMBA degree from Industrial Management Institute. Acutally I kind of emmigrated from Tehran University (same field i.e. EMBA) to IMI.

Since you got your bachelor’s in applied math, I wonder if you can help me find sources to strenghten my knowledge of math.

Well, by knowledge of math, I mean simple everyday usage of math in problem solving (something like high school algebra if you like).

I am especially very keen on interactive courses (like the once Lynda.com give teaching computer skills) but would also spend time reading ebooks or else.

Thank you again for sharing your views with us.

p.s. I haven’t gone through your blog yet but is it OK to give us an estimate of your PhD charges in Canada?
